Today was packed with fellowship, friends, and just all around good times. I went to church and was assigned nursery duty. So I got to play with the cute little kids all morning. After church got out, I got invited to go eat lunch with some friends, then we went and played pool with some other friends, then we ended up at the beach. I originally thought we were going to be playing volleyball at the beach, but I was wrong. I made my way onto the beach and the group of friends we were meeting there definitely had their bathing suits on and were ready to go get ripped out to sea. The water was really rough, and the rip currents were really bad because of Hurricane Gustav on the other coast. My pants had already gotten wet from dipping my feet in the water and then people were purposefully getting me went, and I knew there was no way I was going to be leaving the beach being dry from head to toe. So then my friends Abbie and Josh just dragged me into the water in all of my clothes. Fabulous! Yet it was one of the greatest things ever! So fun! My friend Abbie and I also went for a run on the beach. It felt good, because I haven't really run since April because it is way too hot here right now. But I know I will be paying for it tomorrow. I can already feel the pain in my legs. It is glorious, either way. After that we started making our way home. We took the scenic route, which is where the above picture was taken. I didn't have my camera with me for the rest of the festivities, so I did what I could. My friend David was running low on gas all day long, had already stopped to put gas in his car twice, I gave him the very little money I had on me, and we ended up running out. So we had to push the car out of the road into a shopping plaza, walk across the street to buy a gas can from the gas station, fill it, and then fill the car up. Then we were finally really on our way. It was a crazy, but fun day! I can't wait to hang out with all of my friends again!

Promoting fabulous musicians.
Music is a huge part of who I am today. It speaks to me in ways that I really can't even explain. God shows me things through music more than anything else. But the music industry is really something that interests me. I love helping musicians out and promoting for them. It is something that is very very fun for me, and I get really excited whenever there is some sort of accomplishment. I got this promotional packet of stuff for Jimmy Needham's newest release on August 18th. Since I am going to a weekend packed full of concerts next weekend, I think I am going to atleast take the stickers with me and go to town! :-)

Boring.
Today has been one of those days that has just been dragging. It hasn't necessarily been bad, but it's just been boring. I would rather be anywhere else but in my house right now. I really want to see friends, and just talk face to face to someone. My mom and step-dad are out for the night so I am just hanging out at home. I better rest up this week while I can, because next weekend all of my energy is going to be ripped out of my body. Yay Rock the Universe!

Fall is on its way!
This was the scrumptious meal that my mom made for dinner tonight. I love the way the food we eat changes with the seasons. Since fall is upon us, we had to have a ham with steamed vegetables and sweet potatoes [although, I didn't eat the sweet potatoes. I had a baked potato because I don't like sweet potatoes]. My mom's cooking is the best! It's always nice to sit around the table with my family and eat after a pretty rough day.

A Foggy Whirlwind.
That is what my day has felt like. My blood sugar has been all out of whack for the whole day. When that happens, that usually means my day is down the tubes in terms of my health. I found out I was hypoglycemic when I was in sixth grade. It isn't anything huge, but sometimes it can really throw me off. Today was quite the productive day, though. I got all my laundry done, even the stuff that I had accidentally left in the washer for too long over the weekend. Stinky clothes=stinky Kaitlyn. Sorry, but that's just not how I roll. :-D I got some school work done, and feel really confident about what I turned in. I don't feel that way often.

Haircut.
I got my hair cut today and I love it! It had been almost a year since I last got it cut, so it was definitely time. I haven't had bangs since I was in first grade, so that's new. Although the last time I cut my hair I sort of had bangs, but I don't think that really counts because it went along with the length of my hair. I'm interested to see what it looks like once it isn't blow-dryed and straight and everything.

August 24th, 2008
I have a bunch of candles around my room but they are all unlit. I love candles! We always have candles in our house lit. But part of the reason why I don't light candles is because i'm deathly afraid of fire. I can't light a match if my life depended on it. I'm afraid i'm going to lose a finger or something. Maybe one of these days i'll get over it...
